BDWS CapCoil First Field Deployment
Black Diamond Well Services have completed the first field deployment of our 3/8” Capillary Coiled Tubing (CapCoil) system. Our BD SB 006 Mini Injector Head and BD WLU 028 Hybrid Slickline & CT combi Unit were used to provide a low cost, low impact alternative to conventional standalone CT and Slickline options.
The operations, onshore in Thailand, involved the installation of hydraulic set retrievable bridge plugs into two live gas wells as barriers for Xmas Tree replacements. The operations were completed without any equipment downtime or incidents.
The operations included multiple runs with the 3/8” CT into the live wells with more than 5000psi WHP and the hydraulic setting and testing of the plugs by pumping via the Capillary CT.
The BDWS system can be deployed either, as in Thailand, as a Hybrid unit single skid package including both Slickline and CapCoil reels, or as a light weight two skid system for use on small platforms where transport size and weights are critical.
